DC: Destructive Creatures

DC Shoes have released a stop motion film featuring their surf team. Surfer Clay Marzo from Maui Hawaii features as a giant  in this movie, threatening the little model city. Apart from the epic action scenes and, of course, the amazing surf footage, the titles at the end are worth waiting for - the still scenes will make you chuckle.

Designer's Bookshelf

Designer's Bookshelf is an online resource of book reviews, covering graphic design, logo design, typography, illustration, design theory and UI & web design. Created by James Santilli, a designer from Sydney, Australia, the site provides reviews that are written by industry professionals with a clear structure to each article. There are also monthly give-aways so if you're slightly on the design-nerdy side or are just a creative, free thinker like us take a look at the site here.

Friends of Type

Friends of Type is a lively, interactive visual blog which features new, original typographic design almost everyday. The site acts as a sketchbook for new ideas and expressions within typography and as such communicates beautiful and inspiring pieces that can't fail to please the eye - often drawn by hand. On the last week of each month a guest designer is featured.

'Not all of what we post is set type, nor is it all hand rendered one-offs. It is however inspired by one and could become the other. We are, in the end, friends of type, not necessarily purveyors of type. Anyway, Friends of Lettering isn't very a very catchy URL.'

Follow friends of type on twitter or take a look at the site here - this is definitely a bookmarker!

John Lewis Christmas

After viewing the M&S christmas ad earlier this month, most were left tweeting 'was that it', and we felt that it was now all down to John Lewis to tinker with our festive hearts with another beautiful campaign and they have not let us down. The new £6 million campaign features a cover version of Please, Please, Please Let Me Get What I Want by Morrissey, performed by Slow Moving Millie and was created by Adam and Eve

We won't reveal too much but the beautiful twist gives those heart strings an almighty tug!

About us

As children we had the freedom of imagination and creativity with no boundaries. At school and as adults we are encouraged away from imagination and day dreaming, to think in a structured, process driven way. We disagree with this. We challenge this. Imagination and creativity are gifts that we are all given, and we can develop and encourage them, not throw them away. Free Thinking® is our approach to life, to creativity, to advertising campaigns, to graphic design. We challenge the way things are done, created, agreed, made.
