The bare necessities

Sainsbury's have recently launched their 'Live well for less' campaign. Their focus is on making the most of what you've got and sharing life experiences and pleasures with others. They have released a series of adverts depicting a father and son enjoying a day out together.

Created by AMV BBDO, the adverts are beautifully shot with father and son spending the day on the beach in Worthing and baking in their home. It targets fathers in a compelling yet simple way. However, by the way it is shot, the advert feels as though you are also looking through the eyes of the mother. It is probably most women's dream to watch their handsome husband and cute son spending time together like this. With the clever use of orange in the ads (e.g the son's stripy T-shirt, bedside table and orange lion stuffed toy), the viewer is subtly lead into wanting the 'Live well for less' lifestyle, and with The Jungle Book's 'Bare Necessities' playing in the background, it pulls at your nostalgic heart strings even more.

About us

As children we had the freedom of imagination and creativity with no boundaries. At school and as adults we are encouraged away from imagination and day dreaming, to think in a structured, process driven way. We disagree with this. We challenge this. Imagination and creativity are gifts that we are all given, and we can develop and encourage them, not throw them away. Free Thinking® is our approach to life, to creativity, to advertising campaigns, to graphic design. We challenge the way things are done, created, agreed, made.
