The first exhibition to fully examine the works that Andy Warhol created on the theme of news headlines will premier at the National Gallery of Art, Washington from 25 September 2011. Warhol:Headlines will include 80 paintings, prints, drawings, photographs, sculptures and films, each based in tabloid news, revealing more about the way that the artist obsessed with contemporary media and the way it is produced.
The director of the gallery commented; 'Andy Warhol continues to inform our cutlure in limitless ways through a variety of media' ... ' We are proud to offer this scholarly, visually compelling exhibiton and catalogue of one of the world's most famous and influential artists, providing new information and insights to all visitors, from Warhol specialists to the general public'.
